Maintained Railway Station” of the Southern Railways many a
time, Tiruchirappalli junction is the nucleus of the Southern
Railways. It connects Chennai, Thanjavur, Chidambaram,
Madurai, Tirupathi, Turicorin, Tenkasi, Quilon Rameswaram,
Bangalore, Coimbatore, Mysore, Kochi, Kanyakumari and Mangalore.

of transport within the city is town buses plying through all

in the southern part of the city, namely the Central Bus stand,
and another in the northern part of the city, namely Chatram
Bus stand. To supplement the town bus service there are
taxies, auto-rickshaws and cycle rickshaws.
