Tiruchirappalli City Corporation is collecting the following
taxes directly from the public:
1. Property Tax
2. Professional Tax
3. Fees and Charges
a. Water Charges
b. Under Ground Drainage
c. D & O and P.F.A. licence fess
d. Encroachment Licence fees
e. Cable T.V. fees
4. Non tax revenues : Revenue from commercial ventures
like markets, shopping complexes etc.
The following revenues are assigned to the Corporation:
1. Entertainment tax
2. Surcharge on Stamp duty
3. Surcharge on Sales tax
Library Cess:
At present for every Rupee of the property tax collected
by the local bodies 10 paise is added as library Cess
and collected along with the property tax and remitted
to the local Library Authority. |
