The Tiruchirappalli City Corporation comprising 4 ward committee offices namely Srirengam Ward Office, Ariyamangalam Ward Office, Golden Rock Ward Office, & K. Abishekapuram Ward Office. Each Ward office is having elected representatives (Municipal Councilors). In each ward office one elected representative from among the councilors is elected as ward committee Chairman. The following elected representatives have been elected as ward committee chairman for the respective ward offices. The other members of the representatives of ward offices are also furnished below.

POWERS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE WARDS COMMITTEE:

The Wards Committee shall sanction estimate and plans for municipal works to be carried out within the jurisdiction of the wards committee other than the works taken up and executed for the Corporation as a whole or those covering more than one ward committee office provided that specific provision exists in the Corporation budget sanctioned by the Council.

Call for any report, return, plan, estimate, statement account or statistics from the wards committee office connected with matters pertaining to the municipal administration in the respective jurisdiction of the wards committee;

Scrutinize the monthly statement of the progress report in the collection of revenue in wards committee office connected the respective jurisdiction in the respective jurisdiction of the wards committee;

Consider and make recommendations on the proposals regarding estimates of revenue and expenditure pertaining to the wards committee office under different heads of account of the Corporation budget before being forwarded to the commissioner;

Report or advise upon any matter, which the commissioner or the council or the mayor may refer to the wards committee under these acts.

Deal with such other matters as may be delegated by the council to the wards committee.

In general, exercise all such powers and functions of the corporation as are to be performed exclusively in the territorial areas of the wards committee other than those relating to Corporation as a whole or involving two or more ward committee areas.
